Class Cancelled due to weather - Dec 30

Class will be cancelled this morning due to left over snow and icy roads - Portland has issued a slick road warning; be safe if you need to venture out today!

See you Thursday! (and remember there is no class Friday due to the gym being closed for New Years Day). Here is your at home workout for the day:

Be sure to warm up and stretch all major muscles groups before beginning - legs, arms, abs...
  • 2 minutes side shuffle long-ways across your living room (keep toes in and hop high between shuffles)
  • 2 more minutes side shuffles in a slight squat (keep toes in, knees bent and booty down)
  • 2 more minutes side shuffles in LOW squat (toes in, booty down and weight in your heels)
  • 1 minute dips using a chair or arm of your couch
  • 1 minute 'grasshoppers' or cross country ski in place
  • 1 minute jumping jacks, making silly faces to your little one
  • 1 minute wide push-ups
  • 1 minute narrow push-ups
  • 1 minute 'kamikaze' push-ups on wall/chair/couch
  • repeat from the beginning at least 3 times
  • stay hydrated!

It's snowing!

For some reason when I woke up today I thought it might snow, just based on my own intuition - and I was right! I wish I would have told somebody...
Anyway, typically classes follow the Clackamas school district snow decisoin, and if there is no school or late start, then there are no classes. Since school is out right now, the rule is if there is ice or snow on the ground, class is canceled (better safe than sorry, especially with little ones in our cars).
Check the blog and facebook group in the evening and mornings for updates. And if class is canceled, expect a 'do-it-at-home' workout posted here by 9am. Maybe if you're lucky it will be a video :).

Friday December 25th workout

Happy Christmas! May your day be filled with love and laughter! Warm up and stretch your body...

2 minute wall sit
2 minutes fast feet
2 minutes high knees
2 minutes alternating hop lunges around the room
2 minutes jump to ceiling, down to ground to push-up and repeat (burpies)
2 minutes push-ups, as many as you can do
2 minutes squats, fingers to ground, booty DOWN
2 minutes side shuffle across the room and back
2 minutes jump over a line (one minute forward/back, one minute side/side)
2 minutes squat jump 'jump as far as you can' across the room
Repeat, only once more (if you want to be a superstar, go for 3 times)
stay hydrated!

Thursday December 24th workout

Happy Christmas Eve all!
Be sure to warm up and stretch all major muscles groups before beginning - legs, arms, abs...
  • 3 minutes of stairs, or step-ups on a step/stair: 1 min 30 sec of each foot leading
  • 1 minute of alternating walking lunges BONUS: add a hop
  • 1 minute of push-ups BONUS:alternate wide and narrow
  • 1 minute of plank
  • 3 minutes of stairs again, or skip in place w/ high knees then fast feet for 1 min 30 each
  • 1 minute froggy jumps, touch the floor with finger tips, booty down then reach to the ceiling (really try to touch it every time!)
  • 1 minute reverse alternating walking lunges BONUS: add a hop
  • 1 minute of hip-dropping plank
  • Repeat from the beginning at least 3 times, aim for 4 times total
  • Stay hydrated!
Stretch and cool down - and take a deep breath knowing you've given yourself the best Christmas gift you can: time and attention to the wonderful you!

Wednesday December 23rd workout

Be sure to warm up and stretch all major muscles groups before beginning - legs, arms, abs...

  • 1 minute hold plank, with 'grasshopper' feet
  • 1 minute alternating hop lunges, or just alternating lunges
  • 1 minute cross country ski
  • 2 minutes hold plank, rotate body and reach left arm to ceiling, then back down and right arm to ceiling, repeat
  • 1 minute hold squat, twist upper body side to side
  • 1 minute 30 sec. booty kicks
  • 1 minute 30 sec. high knees
  • 1 minute hold push-up position half way down
  • 1 minute caterpillar crawl across room
  • 1 minute hip-dropping plank
  • repeat at least 3 times, go for 4!
  • stay hydrated!
Stretch out again to cool down. You can only be as good as you push yourself to be, and you are better than you think!

Warm up and stretch your body...

2 minutes push-ups, as many as you can do
2 minutes squats, fingers to ground, booty DOWN
2 minutes side shuffle across the room and back
2 minutes jump over a line (one minute forward/back, one minute side/side)
2 minutes squat jump 'jump as far as you can' across the room
2 minute wall sit
2 minutes fast feet
2 minutes high knees
2 minutes alternating hop lunges around the room
2 minutes jump to ceiling, down to ground to push-up and repeat (burpies)

Repeat, only once more (if you want to be a superstar, go for 3 times)
stay hydrated!

Monday December 21st workout

Be sure to warm up and stretch all major muscles groups before beginning - legs, arms, abs... then Visualize a large circle in the room you are using.

  • 1 minute of side step and squat left around the circle
  • 1 minute of side step and squat right around the circle
  • 1 minute of squat, come up from squat on one leg, alternate
  • 1 minute squat jumps
  • 2 minute wall sit
  • 1 minute plank
  • 1 minute 'inch worm' around the circle
  • 1 minute plank, stepping or jumping feet underneath you and back out
  • 1 minute 'inch worm' around circle again
  • repeat 3 times, BONUS is 4 times!
  • stay hydrated!
Stretch out and cool down.

  • 1 minute hold squat, jump knees apart and together
  • 1 minute jumping jacks
  • 2 minutes hold plank, rotate body and reach left arm to ceiling, then back down and right arm to ceiling, repeat
  • 1 minute hold squat and twist upper body
  • 1 minute 30 sec. fast feet in place
  • 1 minute 30 sec. high knees
  • 1 minute hold push-up position half way down
  • 1 minute caterpillar crawl across room
  • 1 minute hip-dropping plank
  • repeat at least 3 times, go for 4!

holiday break starts this week - daily workouts coming

Holiday break for Baby Boot Camp Clackamas starts Wednesday December 16th, and continues through the 26th. Classes resume at the Health Habit on Monday, December 28th. Subscribe to the blog now to get daily workouts while the break happens - keep up the calorie burning, and maybe even loose a pound or two this Christmas (rather than gain 5 or 6). :)

WOW Clackamas Baby Boot Campers

We collected over 50 pounds of food to donate to Father's Heart - what an amazing thing! Thank you - you all ROCK!

If you are interested in still donating, bring food to class and I will drop it off. They are also in need of warm things (blankets, coats, hats, gloves...) with the cold spell we've been having. If you have extra ones at your house you'd wish to donate, also bring those items to class and they will be taken there.

AGAIN, I am in awe of all your generosity!
